Flavor and Fun

Valentine's Day gifts are fun, and exciting, both for the giver, and the recipient.  Sweethearts of all ages have fun deciding on exactly what to do to express their affection, and confection is a common choice.  Flowers, another popular choice, are equally fun for the individual selecting, and for the recipient.  Combine confection and floral notes, and you'll strike a tasty chord with your true love!  Candy Flowers for Valentines Day allow you to surprise your loved one with something unique, which won't wilt!  When I get flowers from my husband, they often last for a week, or so, but in the end, they go to the goats.  Candy flowers won't wilt, and your valentine will be able to admire them way beyond a week, and even nibble, here and there, depending on the number of candy flowers in your arrangement.

Many florists provide candy bouquets among their offerings, and there are entire businesses devoted to selling such gifts.  However, living in a rural community, such businesses are not available in my immediate vicinity, and so I am relegated to an online search if I want to find such a gift.  In this article, I will highlight some of the types of candy flowers and bouquets available through Amazon, along with some suggestions for making your own Valentine's Day Candy Flowers.

Hard Candies, Lollipops

One of the easiest options for candy flowers is flower shaped lollipops.  There are several choices of individual, or boquet hard candy flowers.  Sweet, brightly colored, these are fun for children to use as treats to pass out along with Valentine cards at school.  Teens and tweens may also find such hard candy flowers to be fun for giving to that special someone at school.  Moms and Dads who enjoy providing little treats for Valentine's Day at home will find these great for placing at the table, more so for daughters.

Whether you find lollipops shaped like flowers, or whether you allow the lollipops to be the flowers, you can have great fun giving these to teens, tweens, or to your sweetheart!

Make your own lollipop bouquet, using floral foam, a terra cotta planter, and an assortment of types of regular, run-of-the-mill lollies.  Poke the pops into the foam, after securing your chunk of foam in the planter.  To give the sense of greenery, use different sized squares of green tissue or cellophane, pointing a knitting needle into, but not through, the center, and gathering the tissue or cellophane, poking the center into the foam about 1/4 inch, and removing the knitting needle.  Continue to fill in the space, but don't do this step until all of your lollipops are placed.
