Poor Sound Quality With Netflix Watch Instantly? Hercules Speakers Worked for Me!

Since we have used Netflix for DVD rental and the very convenient "Netflix Watch Instantly" feature, we have loved the accessibility of favorite films and television shows, old and new. However, we have constantly wondered at the poor sound quality, particularly the lack of volume. My husband tinkered with volume controls and advanced settings galore, but no luck.

More recently, our old flat panel monitor, which housed the speakers used by the computer, went out. In replacing the screen, we opted for a little bigger monitor, again, housing the speakers. It was terribly disappointing, however, when there was still much too low of a volume. Not the theatre experience we expected, we tinkered. My husband stumbled across an interesting piece of information, namely, that the speakers in a monitor are often not suitable for the type of use we were attempting. Rather, speakers should be used which have their own power source. We gave it a shot, and he picked up Hercules XPS 2.0 30 Multimedia Speakers.

The Hercules speakers worked perfectly.  We have great volume, much louder than we even imagined possible.  With tone adjustment, it gives a little more variety, and the best thing is that the family can enjoy a movie together without having to huddle around the computer monitor.  My only regret is that I was not aware of the model in advance, as the prices I find at Amazon are much less than what he paid.  But, everyone's happy the sound is so great, and so the price differential isn't a huge deal. 

If you are dealing with low volume when you use Netflix Watch Instantly feature, or any other video on demand feature, and you've tinkered with settings to no avail, determine whether your speakers are a part of the monitor.  This simple solution worked perfectly for us!
